My work so far on Grand Trak


This week on My grand Trak project I've been trying to make The Lemans Track the most Important European race track for any Racers Career outside of Indianapolis 500 or Daytona 500 Speedway or Pikes Peaks!


So We will show you my progress on the Map of Lemans Raceway and The Ferrari car I will be using as the test car #teamFord

1 My sprites at work

A basic ugly default tire I'm using as a Item to test the barriers


There will be tires and Haybales as well as slowdown barriers they wont stop the car but they will cut your acceleration in half or a little less but slow enough to make the track more tricky and you need some skill but not a lot or it will make the game not fun at all to play so I will tweak it to your Leisure after the code is pretty much done and you can choose your Vehicle

and 1 or 2 Beta Tests!!

I made this Version of the Lemans track that is the shaved and more refined with details!!

This is the basic version I made as the Default and added more pieces to It and edited the size to make it match the actual size and to scale with the cars!!

the grid was extended for the sheer size of the lemans map and to make your car appear very tiny and make the map seem almost intimidating!!

the only finished car asset so its my test dummy until the other 2 are finished and I can fiddle with there controls and Statistics!!

This shows the size of the car on the Grid Lines on the Lemans Layout!


and is used to compare the vehicles to the full scale map of the lemans project!!

This shows How small the car really is to the Layout and I was trying to make it to a almost full scale model to get a real feel of the Actual 24 Hours of Lemans and how small your car is compared to The t

2 The Code


This is the acceleration Code for the car


This is how the car will move

W accelerate

S is for reverse/Brake systems

A is to turn left

D is to turn right



I also put some behaviors that help me with the code

"The Car" one gives it a variable similar to the tank one but instead of Move 1 pixel forward The vehicle goes by car controls so forward reverse left and right by the speed not pixel!

The second one "Scroll To" means It scrolls to the said object as the main Viewpoint instead of the map!!


Bound to layout makes said Sprite bound to the layout!! "Pretty self-explanatory"


Max speed is at 4000


I wanted it at 9001 for obvious reasons but maybe 4200 will work nicely for one of the cars Probably the ford as it will be slower Accelerate but better max speed


Acceleration Is at 1000 aka 2 fast might tweak to "500 or 600" accelerate!! and try to smooth out the turn Radius speed


Steer speed is 225


Drift Recover 185


Deceleration/Reverse speed is 300 depending on the acceleration variables and the Steer speed I may make this higher or slower!!



The rest of the code is for barriers and solid objects as Obstacles to either to slows down your car Like mud and water puddles or to Keep your vehicle on the layout like Car tires and Haybales to slow down a bit and bound you to the layout!
